Joel Singer, Ph.D., is the Founder and Managing Partner of Wayfinder Consulting, LLC. Dr. Singer has experience in the public sector where he was a secondary history teacher, varsity coach, and coordinator. He worked in the private sector as an academic and career consultant and was also a program director. Throughout Dr. Singer’s tenure he has worked side-by-side with clients of all ages to help them envision a direction that is purposeful and invigorating.

Dr. Singer completed his undergraduate degree at Roger Williams University receiving a B.A. in Secondary Education and a B.A. in History. He received his Master’s in Secondary Education and History and completed his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at UMass Dartmouth.

After teaching secondary English for nearly a decade, Elizabeth Janson, Ph.D., is currently a high school media director in Massachusetts. Dr. Janson advises National Honor Society students, assisting them with college preparation and service activities. She also is the AP Capstone teacher at her school, where she helps students develop writing, research, presentation, and problem-solving skills to better prepare them for the 21st century expectations in college and the workforce. Dr. Janson previously was a board member of 3rd EyE Youth Empowerment in which she worked with youth and community members to create arts-based programming to engage “at-promise” youth. She has been a commencement speaker as well as a presenter numerous times at national and international conferences on education. She is a contributing author to several books on curriculum, and she has a forthcoming book called Fighting the Pinocchio Effect.

Dr. Janson has an undergraduate degree in Writing, Rhetoric, and Communication from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Developing a close connection with community and youth, she decided to further her education there by obtaining a Master’s in Secondary Education and English and, then, a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.


Sara Singer is the Director of Tutoring Services for Wayfinder Consulting, LLC. Sara has experience as a secondary math teacher, varsity coach, and tutor. Sara has spent the last decade working with students both in and outside the classroom, helping them reach their maximum potential.
Sara completed her undergraduate degree at Western New England University receiving a B.A. in Mathematical Sciences. She earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Fairfield University. Sara completed her Administrative Certificate and 6th year degree at Sacred Heart University.


Christopher Flaherty has been working in higher education admissions for four years, working through the college admissions process with many different students and their families. He also has experience working with kids through different coaching roles he has held at both the youth and collegiate level.

Christopher completed his undergraduate degree at Providence College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.


Brett Conner is a Physical Education teacher, head varsity baseball coach, and athletic recruiting mentor. Throughout Brett’s career he has worked with children from ages 3 to 24 guiding them through life and athletic opportunities that give his clients the motivation, knowledge, and confidence to achieve success.

Brett completed his undergraduate degree at Monmouth University receiving a B.A. in Communication, and received his Master’s Degree from Manhattanville College in Physical Education.


Andrea Arruda, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist at Wayfinder Consulting, LLC. Over the course of her career, she has completed psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic evaluations for individuals ranging from early elementary school through college for the purposes of identifying individuals’ cognitive abilities,academic skills, attention capabilities, executive functions, and emotional health.

Dr. Arruda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Forensic and Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College. Throughout her experience she has grown to appreciate the therapeutic value of psychological testing. She employs a personal and individualized approach to ensure that each person leaves the testing experience with a better understanding of their learning profile and abilities.
